Hello. I’m Steve.
On behalf of everyone at Metropolitan Solutions – Nationwide Environmental Engineering, I want to thank you for your interest in our company.
As the Vice President of Metropolitan Solutions Group, I am a passionate expert in environmental due diligence, with over 16 years of experience managing 7,000+ environmental site assessments across the US. My ability to understand the details of each deal and guide all parties towards a successful real estate closing sets me apart as a strategic advisor. I am well-versed in achieving lender, seller, buyer, and agency agreement for perceived and actual risk situations, while maintaining strict adherence to federal All Appropriate Inquiry (AAI) and ASTM standard environmental practices.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from American International College and a Master’s Degree from Western New England University. With my expertise in understanding the behavior of chemicals in the environment, including man-made chemicals, I have a strong understanding of physical transport, chemical and biological sources and sinks, as well as their eventual fate. Additionally, I have knowledge of environmental concerns’ linkages to health effects, sources and control, and policy aspects, which I gained through several classes in the MIT, Chemicals in the Environment, Fate & Transport program.
Aside from my professional life, I’m an Army veteran, an Angel Flight Pilot, and a member of the Board of the Chesapeake, VA Emergency Response Team. I’m committed to giving back to the community and helping those in need. Our clients include National and Regional SBA Lenders, Wall Street Financial Firms, Private Industrial and Commercial Firms, and Private Wealth Firms. Let me guide you through the environmental due diligence process and achieve the best results for your real estate deal.
I am eager to collaborate with you.

Why Choose Metropolitan
National
We are a national company that trains EPA and OSHA inspectors across the United States. We utilize these inspectors whenever a site inspection is required. Click here to see our United States coverage map.
Affordable
We utilize our own EPA inspectors that are local to a requested inspection site. This eliminates the need for inspector travel expenses and these savings are reflected in our low cost pricing.
Communication
Ongoing, concise and consistent communication is a crucial part of the environmental site assessment process. As information is garnered we are communicating to ensure that all due diligence is being explored to ensure a quality end product.
Fast
Our local site inspectors allow for fast completion and reporting of environmental inspections. Our typical turnaround time for a Phase 1 assessment is 7-10 business days and we will expedite reports at no additional cost. Phase 2 assessments are required approximately 2% of the time. When needed, they are completed in an accelerated manner by using our own laboratory facilities to analyze soil and groundwater samples.
Quality
Each report is written by a licensed and experienced professional geologist and meets ASTM standards, SBA and Banking compliance. We make sure that everything has been explored in terms of due diligence to avoid automatically defaulting to additional and more expensive site assessments. Our multilayer, Quality Assurance process includes a Senior Reviewer & SBA Compliance Officer with over 25 years of environmental problem solving experience.
History
For over three decades, we have provided Environmental Site Assessments. Our processes are designed to meet the needs of lenders and are completed in strict accordance with ASTM and SBA policies. We are actively involved with and support the SBA Community. We participate in conferences, provide training and attend seminars as subject matter experts. Our staff is always available to answer any questions and offer support to our SBA family.

Hello. I’m Claire.
Thank you for visiting our site! As the Senior Review and SBA Compliance Officer, I am directly involved with every environmental report to ensure that it meets the most demanding industry standards and all SBA and USDA requirements.
Prior to joining Metropolitan Solutions, I worked indirectly with the firm for over 10 years as the manager of banking vendor relationships oversight and technical compliance review. Metropolitan Solutions was one of those vendors that enabled me to achieve my goal of cost-saving measures and timely receipt of reports for our clients, which translated into expedited closings, portfolio risk management and significant competitive advantages.
My years of experience working with government environmental regulators and my extensive banking credit and underwriting background has helped me translate environmental compliance into the practical world of small business lending. This enables me to interpret and simplify the technical complexities into practical risk assessments that convey and explain how environmental due diligence impacts borrowers and bankers alike.
My bottom-line goal is to provide you and other Metropolitan clients with down-to-earth solutions that help mitigate environmental risk.
I look forward to working with you.

Scope of Service
Our staff of licensed professional geologists are involved in a wide variety of engineering projects that assess the potential environmental impact that may exist on a property including facilities as well as on raw land. Our findings are used by funding sources to determine the viability of lending or investing in projects. The services we provide to Developers, Equity & Insurance firms range include investigating the potential for previous releases of a wide variety of contaminants. These contaminants include but are not limited to petroleum products, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and many other volatile and carcinogenic compounds.
Our engineering practice is national across the U.S.A. and Metropolitan Solutions has completed engineering projects in all 50 states. Our teams of geologists possess the highest recognized credential for this type of consulting.
We use Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH) accredited by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. This part of our practice encompasses all manner of indoor air quality including but not limited to asbestos, lead based paint, radon, and mold.
The engineering services provided by Metropolitan Solutions also embraces certain construction elements. Our team of Professional Engineers and Architects perform Property Condition Assessments (PCA’s) to determine the building and component conditions as well as life expectancy and estimated future costs. Our clients who are financial lenders need to be able to determine appropriate levels of cash reserves that are to be maintained because our assessments frequently require additional analysis, which includes seismic and structural investigations.
The strength of Metropolitan Solutions in these assessments is that we identify the existence of an issue and we also make recommendations of options to address those issues including a cost benefit analysis that allows our clients to make the decision that will offer the best cost versus risk solution.
Let’s Talk About ~40%.
“Over the past 10 years, our Environmental Engineering Group has been asked to review competitor’s Phase II Site Assessment Proposals. Approximately 40% of the time, the Phase II recommendations, along with their associated costs, are incorrect and not needed.”
