As the Head of our Environmental Health & Safety Business unit, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit our Health & Safety webpage. Here you will find all the information you will need on our EHS Training and Occupational Health offerings.
On the Training side, we provide an instructor-led training experience that keeps students engaged, supported, and properly trained. We offer both live and virtual training options along with flexible scheduling so you can achieve your training requirements quickly and in a cost effective manner. With decades of Training experience, OSHA-10, 30, and Fire Watch, are just a few of the 30+ in-person and virtual training classes we provide our Maritime and Construction industry clients.
If you require Occupational Health Services such as drug screens, respirator fit testing, and medical evaluations, they are conveniently located at our training facilities and can even be scheduled in conjunction with various training classes.

Training – Our History
From the beginning of the company, Metropolitan Solutions has provided environmental health and safety training. The training programs provided by the company have been vetted and approved by numerous state agencies as well as the United States Department of Labor. Classes are presented in a variety of mediums including computer based training (CBT) 2-way video which allows for students in multiple cities to receive live instruction simultaneously and to be able to interact with the instructor. We also provide traditional classroom training in each of our office locations.
Metropolitan has been very involved in workforce development. Classes provide the necessary credential for students to acquire licenses to work in asbestos, lead paint and hazardous material industries. The fact that Metropolitan is the only firm to have been granted permission to present regulated classes via 2-way video by the United States Department of Labor is a testament to the quality of the instructional programs that we offer our students.

Respirator Fit Testing-Industrial
Convenient and affordable, Metropolitan Solutions’ Industrial Fit Testing aligns to the key areas required by the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard. The fit testing process validates the efficacy of a respirator and determines the appropriate respirator for your employee’s protection on a work site or during a particular work activity. This is achieved by uncovering whether the respirator provides an adequate seal on the employee’s face and the amount of a potential contaminant leakage into the facepiece through the face seal. A successful fit test qualifies an employee to use a specific brand/make/model and size of respirator worn during the test.

Qualitative versus Quantitative Fit Testing
At Metropolitan Solutions, QUANTITATIVE fit testing is our preferred method to ensure accurate results. In quantitative testing, the respirator is attached to a machine that is used to interpret and record leakage results, and if these results do not meet the necessary criteria, they are determined to be unusable in real-world hazardous situations.
